November 12, 2008 So Much Promise.... In life there are many ups and downs which can be very demanding... We strive to be what we set out to be or shall I say "WANT" to be, but there's one thing... THAT'S WHY WE PLAY THE GAME!!! That's right the game, and with this game that we play who knows what will be the outcome? The Game, can be demanding mentally and physically but I can tell you it effects much more than just us players. We tell ourselves that this will be the year, the year in which we get it done and win the CHAMPIONSHIP! We talk trash to our friends, co-workers, and teammates that we got what it takes and our team is ready. All off-season we tell and explain why this squad of 46 players will make the city proud.... The 2008 Winnipeg Bluebombers came into this season with "SO MUCH PROMISE" and so much talent but oh so much to overcome. Expectations this year were set really high and everybody felt that we had the tools, I know I did.... Me and my teammates worked hard to have a successful year and we just didn't get it done... simple as that! You start a season 0-4 and the city and the fans are left wondering what is going on. We just left the Grey Cup last year, we got a lot of the same players back there's no way this should be happening? In the locker room we where starting to look at ourselves like man this is crazy we are better than this we have PROMISE... But we stayed together and we fought everybody when fans and people started to jump ship! Looking at 0-5 and on the brink of falling off the boat and drowning we beat a good Calgary team that ended up wining there division. What a roller coaster that was to get A win we and the true loyal Bomber fans pulled it out...1-4....! But we continued to struggle and injuries started to happen and nothing was working so 2-8 is now our record... A season with "SO MUCH PROMISE" is looking like no playoffs for us and people start talking bout changes and in this city when the people talks the organization acts.... Life's Promise sometimes don't always turn out to be what we envision but we must continue to strive to get better in whatever it is that we do as people or as teammates and try our best to move on... We have to continue to prepare ourselves to be great in out sport no mater what we think because with SO MUCH PROMISE we still have to PLAY THE GAME!!! I want to thank all the loyal and true BOMBER fans for the support this year and that I'm sorry that we didn't make you guys proud. Me and my teammates know what we have to do and we will so stay tuned... Lastly I want to say to all the IceMan fans out there thank you so much for your support for me this year and in the future. Stay tuned to the website for IceMan info all off season.....
